SC20 Monitor - remote monitoring of magnetic fields with SC20 The SC20 is a Magnetic Field Cancelling System that stabilises the X, Y and Z ambient field and restores the resolution and accuracy of electron beam microscopes and other tools.

Part of the function of the SC20 is to display the field from its precision AC or DC magnetic field sensors on its front panel meters. It also indicates whether the field is OK, or whether an AC or DC field component tripped above a preset level. The SC20 Monitor, which allows this functionality to be extended to remote monitoring, is a small unit that plugs into the back panel of the SC20 control unit providing a USB connection to a PC.

The SC20 Monitor software runs on Microsoft Windows®, enabling remote monitoring of the SC20 system performance over a LAN or the internet. The software has three components:

SC20 Server runs on the PC local to the SC20 system and provides a connection between the SC20 monitor and a port on the network. It allows multiple SC20 systems to be connected to the same SC as long as power is available.

SC20 Browser runs on a remote PC and manages multiple SC20 Servers. It allows quick selection of the system to be monitored. It configures user IDs and passwords to access the servers.

SC20 Client also runs on the remote PC. It is the tool that remotely monitors and logs the magnetic fields. Different levels of monitoring provide increasing levels of information: FIELD OK and trips only, Meters, or Waveforms.

If the client is logged on with full access, then it can also reset the SC20 system and enable or disable the cancelling. This allows ambient and cancelled fields to be monitored.
